Wet Dust Collectors for Industrial Air Pollution Control in Jiangsu

Jiangsu wet dust collector: a practical choice for industrial dusty exhaust gas treatment

In the industrial production process, processes such as cutting, grinding, polishing, crushing, mixing and material transportation may produce a large amount of dust and particulate matter. Jiangsu wet dust collector uses water or absorption liquid to fully contact the dust-containing gas, so that the dust is moistened, condensed and separated from the air flow, thereby reducing the dust concentration at the production site.

Wet dust collectors are mainly used for industrial dusty waste gas treatment and are not indoor air purification equipment used in ordinary homes or offices. Whether the equipment is suitable needs to be comprehensively judged based on the dust properties, treatment air volume, exhaust gas temperature, installation space and wastewater treatment conditions.

1. Working principle of wet dust collector

The dust-containing gas enters the interior of the dust collector under the action of the fan and fully contacts the spray liquid, water film or atomized droplets. Dust particles enter the liquid phase due to inertial collision, interception, wetting and agglomeration, and flow into the water tank or sedimentation area with the circulating fluid.

The processed gas then passes through the water baffle or mist removal device to reduce water droplet entrainment and is discharged from the exhaust port. The circulating fluid is processed through sedimentation, filtration, water replenishment and sewage discharge.

2. Main features of wet dust collector

1. Reduce secondary dust: After dust enters the liquid phase, it is not easy to re-suspend and spread.

2. It can reduce the gas temperature at the same time: the spray liquid can absorb part of the heat in the high-temperature exhaust gas.

3. Suitable for some sticky dust: It can reduce the problem of sticky substances clogging ordinary filter bags or filter cartridges.

4. Can handle some water-soluble components: By selecting the appropriate absorption liquid, some acidic and alkaline pollutants can be absorbed or neutralized.

5. Flexible structural form: spray tower, water film dust collector, venturi scrubber or wet cyclone dust collector can be selected according to the working conditions.

3. Common application scenarios

1. Particles produced by metal cutting, grinding, polishing and casting.

2. Dust generated by mining, sand and gravel, cement and building materials industries.

3. Dust-containing waste gas during chemical, rubber, plastic and powder processing.

4. Cooling and pre-dusting of boilers, kilns and some high-temperature flue gases.

5. Some industrial conditions accompanied by sparks, high-temperature particles or sticky dust.

4. Particulate Matter Treatment Effect

Wet dust collectors can capture a variety of industrial particles, but the actual treatment effect is closely related to dust particle size, density, hydrophilicity, gas-liquid contact method and equipment structure.

For finer particles, the collision effect can be enhanced by optimizing the nozzle, increasing the degree of droplet atomization, or using a Venturi structure. However, equipment resistance and fan energy consumption may also increase, so a reasonable balance needs to be struck between processing efficiency and operating costs.

5. It cannot directly replace indoor air purifiers

Wet dust collectors are usually larger in size and need to be equipped with fans, water pumps, water tanks, sewage discharge and mist removal devices. They mainly serve industrial production lines and dusty exhaust gas systems.

For air purification in ordinary homes, offices and commercial spaces, air purifiers, fresh air systems or clean air conditioning equipment that meet the requirements should be selected based on indoor particulate matter, odor and ventilation needs.

6. Instructions on the treatment of bacteria, viruses and harmful gases

The main function of the wet dust collector is to capture dust particles and cannot be used directly as bacteria and virus disinfection equipment. Indoor pathogenic microorganism control usually requires high-efficiency filtration, ventilation, ultraviolet light or other specialized disinfection measures.

For gases that are easily soluble in water or can react with the absorption liquid, they can be treated to a certain extent by wet washing. For most volatile organic compounds that are difficult to dissolve in water and complex odors, activated carbon adsorption, catalytic combustion or other special purification equipment is required.

7. Equipment operating energy consumption

The operating energy consumption of the wet dust collector mainly comes from the fan and circulating water pump. The system resistance of different equipment structures varies greatly, so it cannot be simply assumed that wet dust collectors are necessarily more energy-saving than dry dust collectors.

By reasonably controlling the air volume, optimizing the pipeline layout, selecting efficient fans and water pumps, and improving the utilization rate of circulating water, the long-term operating costs of the equipment can be reduced.

8. Automatic control function

For projects with high continuous operation or management requirements, an automatic control system can be configured to monitor fans, water pumps, liquid levels, pressure differences and equipment failure status in real time.

1. Automatically control the starting sequence of circulating water pumps and fans.

2. Monitor the liquid level in the water tank to prevent the water pump from running out of water.

3. Alarm for abnormal water pumps, fans and liquid levels.

4. Configure pH monitoring and automatic dosing functions according to the nature of pollutants.

5. Record equipment operation data to facilitate maintenance and fault analysis.

9. Parameters required for equipment selection

1. Actual air volume and daily operating time.

2. Dust name, particle size, concentration, density and hydrophilicity.

3. Exhaust gas temperature, humidity and corrosiveness.

4. Whether it contains acidic, alkaline or organic pollutants.

5. Whether there are sparks, high-temperature particles or combustible dust.

6. On-site installation space, pipeline direction and power supply conditions.

7. Discharge requirements and wastewater and sludge treatment conditions.

10. Precautions for daily maintenance

1. Regularly check whether the nozzles, pipes and mist eliminators are blocked.

2. Clean the circulating water tank, sedimentation area and sewage pipes regularly.

3. Check the water pump, fan and valves for abnormal noise or leakage.

4. Replenish water, add medicine, filter or replace in time according to the status of circulating fluid.

5. When used in outdoor low-temperature environments, insulation and anti-freezing measures should be taken.

6. Before maintenance, shut down the machine, cut off the power supply, and confirm that no dangerous gas remains inside the equipment.

Jiangsu wet dust collectors are mainly used for industrial dusty waste gas treatment. The actual treatment effect of the equipment is closely related to the nature of the dust, spray volume, treatment air volume, system resistance and circulating fluid management. The design should be based on the complete working conditions before selection. It cannot be directly used as an air purification product for homes or offices.
