Industrial Dust Collection Solutions for Fine Airborne Particles

Jiangsu wet dust collector: a practical solution for industrial dust control

Jiangsu wet dust collector is mainly used to treat dust-containing gases generated during industrial production, material processing and construction. The equipment comes into contact with dust through water, absorption liquid or other washing media, so that the particles are moistened, condensed and separated from the air flow, thereby reducing dust emissions and on-site dust.

Wet dust collectors are suitable for some high-concentration dust, sticky dust, high-temperature exhaust gas, and working conditions that require simultaneous cooling and humidification. The actual equipment selection should be judged based on the dust properties, treatment air volume, exhaust gas temperature, on-site space and emission requirements.

1. Working principle of Jiangsu wet dust collector

After dust-containing gas enters the wet dust collector, it fully contacts the spray liquid, water film or high-speed atomized droplets. Dust particles enter the liquid phase due to inertial collision, interception, wetting and agglomeration, and flow into the sedimentation area or water tank with the circulating fluid.

The preliminary purified gas then passes through the gas-liquid separation or mist removal device to reduce water droplet entrainment and is discharged from the equipment outlet. Dust-containing circulating fluid is processed through sedimentation, filtration, water replenishment and sewage discharge.

2. The main advantages of wet dust collector

1. Suitable for processing some fine particles: the contact between liquid droplets and dust can cause the particles to agglomerate, which is beneficial to improving the separation effect.

2. Can reduce secondary dust: after dust enters the liquid phase, it is not easy to fly again.

3. Simultaneous cooling and humidification: suitable for some dusty waste gases with high temperature or requiring cooling pretreatment.

4. Suitable for some sticky dust: it can reduce the problem of dry filter media being blocked by sticky substances.

5. Combinable absorption treatment: After configuring the absorption liquid according to the nature of the pollutants, some water-soluble or acid-base gases can be treated.

6. Various forms of equipment: spray towers, venturi scrubbers, water film dust collectors or wet cyclone dust collectors can be selected according to on-site needs.

3. Common application scenarios

1. Dust generated by metal cutting, grinding, polishing and casting.

2. Particulate matter treatment in mining, sand and gravel, cement and building materials industries.

3. High-concentration dust generated during chemical, powder and material transportation.

4. Cooling and pre-dusting of boilers, kilns and some high-temperature flue gases.

5. Local dust generated during construction and material processing.

4. How to choose the appropriate type of equipment

The bigger the size of the wet dust removal equipment, the better, nor can it just look at the appearance of the equipment. The appropriate structural form should be selected based on the nature of the pollutants and on-site working conditions.

1. Spray tower: suitable for gas cooling, humidification and absorption of some water-soluble pollutants.

2. Venturi wet dust collector: suitable for some fine particles and high concentration dust, but the system resistance is usually high.

3. Water film dust collector: The structure is relatively simple and suitable for the treatment of smoke and particulate matter in some boilers.

4. Wet cyclone dust collector: Using the combination of centrifugal force and spray liquid, it is suitable for some larger particles and high-concentration dust.

5. Parameters that need to be considered when selecting equipment

1. Actual air volume and daily operating time.

2. Dust type, particle size, concentration, density and hydrophilicity.

3. Exhaust gas temperature, humidity and corrosiveness.

4. Is the dust sticky, abrasive or explosive?

5. On-site installation space, pipeline direction and system resistance requirements.

6. Discharge requirements and whether subsequent fine treatment equipment is required.

7. Circulating water, sewage, sludge and wastewater treatment conditions.

6. Reasonably set the equipment installation location

The wet dust collector should be arranged as close as possible to the main dust-producing area to reduce the length of the air duct and system resistance. The vacuum hood should be close to the point where dust is generated, and the position of the hood should be determined based on the direction of dust diffusion.

Space for maintenance, water tank cleaning and pipeline maintenance should be reserved around the equipment. When installing outdoors, rain protection, anti-freeze, anti-corrosion and equipment foundation load-bearing should also be considered.

7. Correct startup and shutdown methods

Before starting the equipment, check whether the circulating fluid level, nozzles, water pumps, fans and sewage systems are normal. Generally, the circulating water pump should be started first, and then the dust removal fan should be started after confirming that the spray is normal.

When shutting down, you should first stop the dust-producing equipment or exhaust gas source, then turn off the fan, and let the circulating water pump continue to run for a period of time. The inside of the equipment should be flushed before stopping the pump.

8. Daily maintenance and cleaning requirements

1. Regularly check whether the nozzles are clogged, worn or sprayed unevenly.

2. Clean the circulating water tank, sedimentation area and sewage pipes regularly.

3. Check the water pump, fan and valves for abnormal noise, vibration or leakage.

4. Check the mist eliminator regularly to prevent clogging and water droplet entrainment.

5. Replenish water, add medicine or replace it in time according to the status of circulating fluid.

6. Establish cleaning, sewage discharge and equipment maintenance records.

9. Comprehensive assessment of operating costs is required

The operating costs of wet dust collectors include fan energy consumption, water pump energy consumption, water replenishment, chemicals, wastewater treatment, sludge disposal and equipment maintenance. The system resistance of different structures varies greatly, so it cannot be simply assumed that wet dust removal equipment is necessarily more energy-saving than dry equipment.

By reasonably controlling the treatment air volume, optimizing the pipeline layout, selecting high-efficiency water pumps and fans, and reusing the circulating fluid, operating costs can be reduced to a certain extent.

10. Applicable limitations of wet dust collectors

Wet dust removal will transfer dust into the liquid phase, so wastewater and sludge treatment must be considered simultaneously. For working conditions where dangerous reactions occur after contact with water, dry powder materials need to be recycled, or the generation of waste water is strictly prohibited, it is usually not suitable to directly use wet dust removal.

For organic waste gases and odors that are difficult to dissolve in water, it is usually difficult to achieve the ideal treatment effect by relying only on ordinary water washing. It should be combined with activated carbon adsorption, catalytic combustion or other special purification processes.

Jiangsu wet dust collector is mainly used for industrial dust gas control and is not an ordinary indoor air purifier. The actual treatment effect of the equipment is closely related to the dust properties, spray volume, system resistance, gas-liquid separation efficiency and circulating fluid management. The design should be based on the complete working conditions before selection.
