Application of silo-top baghouse dust collector in the electronics industry

In the electronics manufacturing process, dust and fine particles may be generated during raw material feeding, powder conveying, cutting, grinding, polishing and some assembly processes. In order to reduce dust escape, improve the production environment, and reduce the impact of dust on equipment and processes, it is necessary to configure appropriate dust removal equipment according to actual working conditions.

Suzhou Esair Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. provides dust control and waste gas treatment solutions to the electronics industry. The bag dust collector on the top of the silo is mainly suitable for the top of the silo, storage tank or powder conveying system to handle the dusty gas emitted when the material enters the silo.

1. Sources of dust in the electronics industry

The electronics industry involves a variety of raw materials and processing techniques, and the properties of dust generated in different production links are quite different. Before equipment selection, the dust source, particle size, concentration, temperature, humidity and corrosiveness should be clarified.

1. Dust generated during the unpacking, feeding and transportation of powdered raw materials.

2. Particles produced by cutting and grinding plastics, resins, metals and composite materials.

3. Fine dust generated during batching, mixing and storage.

4. Secondary dust generated during equipment cleaning and material transfer.

2. The main function of the bag dust collector on the top of the silo

When the powder enters the silo through pneumatic conveying, screw conveying or other methods, the air in the silo will be squeezed and discharged outward. Without filtration, dust may escape from the silo roof with airflow.

The bag dust collector on the top of the silo is installed on the top of the silo and uses filter bags to filter dusty gas. The dust is trapped on the surface of the filter bag, and the purified air is discharged from the air outlet; after cleaning, the attached dust falls back into the silo, thereby reducing material loss and on-site dust.

3. Main components of the equipment

1. Dust removal box: forms a closed filtering space, and installs filter bags, flower boards and dust cleaning components.

2. Filtration system: Use filter bags and frames to filter dusty gas.

3. Ash cleaning system: Pulse injection, vibration cleaning or other methods can be used to remove dust on the surface of the filter bag.

4. Fan system: configured according to the equipment structure and working conditions to provide power for air flow filtration.

5. Control system: used to control fans, pulse valves and cleaning cycles.

6. Maintenance structure: convenient for inspection and replacement of filter bags, pulse valves and other wearing parts.

IV. The main features of silo-top baghouse dust collectors

1. Large filtering area: arranging multiple filter bags in a limited equipment space will help reduce the filtration load.

2. Compact structure: The equipment is installed directly on the top of the silo, which can reduce the space occupied on the ground.

3. Reduce dust escape: It can filter the dust-containing gas discharged from the silo to improve the on-site environment.

4. Maintenance is more convenient: the filter bag, frame and cleaning components can be inspected and replaced through the inspection port.

5. Strong adaptability: Corresponding filter materials can be selected according to dust temperature, humidity, corrosiveness and particle size.

6. Reduce material waste: dust after cleaning can fall back into the silo.

5. Applicable scenarios in the electronics industry

The bag dust collector on the silo roof is not suitable for all dust-producing links in the electronics industry. It is mainly used in processes with silos, storage tanks or powder conveying systems.

1. Powder raw material storage silo and batching system.

2. Storage equipment for plastic powder, resin powder and functional materials.

3. Powder additive conveying and feeding system.

4. A closed silo that needs to be protected from dust on the top of the silo.

For local dust-generating points such as cutting, grinding, welding and open feeding, it is usually necessary to configure a dust collection hood, mobile dust collector, cartridge dust collector or central dust removal system.

6. Effect on the production environment

Proper configuration of the bag dust collector on the top of the silo can reduce the dust escape generated during the feeding and exhaust process of the silo, and reduce the accumulation of dust in the equipment, ground and surrounding areas.

For electronic manufacturing processes that require high product quality, silo-top dust collection can be used as part of the production environment control, but it cannot replace clean room air conditioning, process isolation, static electricity control and quality management systems.

7. Precautions for installation and use

1. Before installation, confirm the opening on the top of the silo, the flange size and the load-bearing conditions.

2. Ensure that the connection between the equipment and the silo is sealed reliably to avoid air and dust leakage.

3. Regularly check whether the filter bag is blocked, damaged, aged or falling off.

4. Regularly check the pulse valve, blow pipe, air bag and compressed air system.

5. Control the temperature and humidity at the inlet of the equipment to prevent condensation and bagging of the filter bag.

6. Shut down the machine, cut off the power supply and release the residual pressure in the compressed air system before maintenance.

8. How to choose the appropriate filter material

The filter material should be selected according to the dust temperature, humidity, particle size, corrosiveness and whether it is flammable. Ordinary polyester needle felt, film-coated filter material, antistatic filter material and corrosion-resistant filter material are suitable for different working conditions.

If the dust is flammable or has the risk of explosion, anti-static filter bags, reliable grounding, explosion-proof electrical, explosion venting or explosion-proof measures should also be configured according to the risk assessment. You cannot just rely on ordinary silo roof dust collectors for treatment.

9. Intelligent control and maintenance management

For systems with continuous operation or high management requirements, pressure difference monitoring, scheduled dust cleaning and fault alarm functions can be configured to facilitate managers to understand the operating status of the equipment.

1. Automatically start dust cleaning based on pressure difference or time.

2. Record the operating status of the fan and pulse valve.

3. Alarm for abnormal filter resistance and dust cleaning failure.

4. Establish records of filter bag replacement, dust cleaning and maintenance.

10. Parameters that need to be provided before selection

1. Dust name, composition, particle size and concentration.

2. Silo volume, feeding method and feeding speed.

3. Equipment exhaust volume and operating time.

4. Dust temperature, humidity and corrosiveness.

5. Silo top dimensions, interface direction and installation space.

6. Emission requirements and whether explosion-proof configuration is required.

The bag dust collector on the top of the silo is mainly used to filter the dusty exhaust at the top of the silo, and is not suitable to directly replace the dust and harmful gas treatment equipment at all stations in the electronics workshop. The actual plan should be designed based on the type of pollutant, location of dust generation and process conditions.
