1. Definition of Lime Dosing System
The lime dosing system is equipment for storing quicklime powder, equipped with a silo-top dust collector and realizing automatic powder feeding.
2. Working Principle of Lime Dosing System
Quicklime and calcium hydroxide powder (fine particles of 200–400 mesh) are pneumatically conveyed into the storage silo by bulk tank trucks. The powder is metered via a star feeder and delivered to the lime dissolving tank by a screw conveyor. The agitator mixes the powder with water for lime slurry preparation and residue discharge. The finished lime slurry is then pumped into raw water at dosing points by a screw pump.
The whole system operates in a fully enclosed environment with an integrated silo dust collector, which prevents lime dust fugitive emissions, protects the surrounding environment and avoids dust hazards to on-site operators.

4. Application Value

- Removal of specific acid radical ions: alkaline lime slurry precipitates phosphate and sulfate ions to achieve phosphorus and sulfur removal.

6. Technological Process
- Feeding Lime powder from tank trucks is delivered into the silo through positive-pressure conveying at the feed inlet. The silo is fitted with a dust collector, safety valve, level gauge and arch breaker. The dust collector separates lime powder from conveying air to avoid pressure buildup and dust leakage. The safety valve prevents silo structural damage when the dust collector is blocked. The level gauge monitors material volume to avoid overfilling and reminds operators of replenishment when silo stock is low.
- Lime Slurry Preparation Lime powder is quantitatively conveyed into the dissolving tank by screw conveyor, with proportional water injection to prepare lime slurry of target concentration for standby use.
- Dosing & Delivery Prepared lime slurry is pumped and injected into the water treatment dosing point by the lime slurry pump.
