How R&D Improves Industrial Air Purification Equipment

Jiangsu wet dust collector: a practical equipment for industrial dusty waste gas treatment

With the continuous improvement of industrial environmental protection requirements, dust, smoke and high-temperature dusty gases generated during the production process need to be collected and processed through appropriate purification equipment. Jiangsu wet dust collector uses water or absorbent liquid to contact dust-containing gas to wet, condense and separate the particles from the air flow. It is suitable for some industrial dust control scenarios.

Wet dust collectors are mainly designed for industrial production environments and are not indoor air purifiers used in ordinary homes or offices. The actual processing capacity of the equipment is closely related to the dust properties, treatment air volume, spray volume, system resistance and circulating fluid management.

1. Working principle of Jiangsu wet dust collector

After dust-containing gas enters the equipment, it fully contacts the spray liquid, water film or high-speed atomized droplets. Dust particles enter the liquid phase due to inertial collision, interception, wetting and agglomeration, and flow into the water tank or sedimentation area with the circulating fluid.

The dust-removed gas then passes through a baffle or demister to reduce water droplets entrained in the airflow, and is finally transported to the exhaust duct by a fan. Dust-containing circulating fluid is processed through sedimentation, filtration, water replenishment and sewage discharge.

2. Main features of wet dust collector

1. Reduce secondary dust: After dust is collected and enters the liquid phase, it is not easy to suspend and spread again.

2. Simultaneous cooling: After the spray liquid comes into contact with high-temperature gas, it can absorb part of the heat.

3. Suitable for some sticky dust: It can reduce the problem of ordinary filter bags or filter cartridges being blocked by sticky substances.

4. Can handle some water-soluble components: After configuring the absorbing liquid according to the nature of the pollutants, it can absorb or neutralize to a certain extent.

5. Flexible structural form: spray tower, water film dust collector, venturi scrubber or wet cyclone dust collector can be selected according to the working conditions.

3. Common application fields

1. Dust generated by metal cutting, grinding, polishing and casting.

2. Particulate matter treatment in mining, sand and gravel, cement and building materials industries.

3. Dust-containing waste gas produced by chemical, rubber, plastic and powder processing.

4. Cooling and pre-dusting of boilers, kilns and some high-temperature flue gases.

5. Some working conditions accompanied by sparks, high-temperature particles or prone to secondary dust.

4. Particulate matter processing capacity

Wet dust collectors can capture a variety of industrial particulate matter. The treatment effect depends on the particle size, density, hydrophilicity, gas-liquid contact method and equipment structure.

For finer particles, the collision effect can be enhanced by increasing the degree of droplet atomization, optimizing the gas-liquid ratio, or using a Venturi structure. However, equipment resistance and fan energy consumption may also increase, so reasonable design is required.

5. Instructions for handling harmful gases and odors

The main function of the wet dust collector is to deal with particulate matter. For gases that are easily soluble in water or can react chemically with the absorption liquid, the circulating liquid formula can be adjusted for absorption and neutralization.

For most volatile organic compounds that are difficult to dissolve in water and complex odors, it is usually difficult to achieve the ideal treatment effect by relying only on ordinary water washing. It needs to be used in combination with activated carbon adsorption, catalytic combustion or other special equipment.

6. Automatic control system

For industrial projects with high continuous operation or management requirements, an automatic control system can be configured to monitor water pumps, fans, liquid level, pressure difference and equipment failure status.

1. Automatically control the start and stop sequence of circulating water pumps and fans.

2. Monitor the liquid level of the circulating water tank to prevent the water pump from running out of water.

3. Alarm for abnormalities in fans, water pumps and liquid levels.

4. Configure pH monitoring and automatic dosing functions according to the nature of pollutants.

5. Record equipment operating parameters to facilitate maintenance and fault analysis.

7. Equipment operating costs

The operating costs of wet dust collectors mainly include fan energy consumption, water pump energy consumption, water replenishment, chemicals, sewage discharge, sludge treatment and equipment maintenance.

The system resistance of different equipment structures varies greatly, so it cannot be simply assumed that wet dust collectors must have lower energy consumption than dry dust collectors. A comprehensive evaluation should be made based on actual treatment efficiency, air volume and continuous operation time.

8. Parameters required for equipment selection

1. Actual air volume and daily operating time.

2. Dust name, particle size, concentration, density and hydrophilicity.

3. Exhaust gas temperature, humidity and corrosiveness.

4. Whether it contains acidic, alkaline or organic pollutants.

5. Whether there are sparks, high-temperature particles or combustible dust.

6. On-site installation space, pipeline direction and power supply conditions.

7. Discharge requirements and wastewater and sludge treatment conditions.

9. Precautions for daily maintenance

1. Regularly check whether the nozzles, pipelines and mist eliminators are blocked.

2. Clean the circulating water tank, sedimentation area and sewage pipes regularly.

3. Check the water pump, fan and valves for abnormal noise or leakage.

4. Replenish water, add medicine or replace it in time according to the status of circulating fluid.

5. When used in outdoor low-temperature environments, insulation and anti-freezing measures should be taken.

6. Before maintenance, shut down the machine, cut off the power supply, and confirm that there are no dangerous gases remaining inside the equipment.

10. Applicable limitations of wet dust collectors

Wet dust removal will transfer dust into the liquid phase, so wastewater and sludge treatment must be considered simultaneously. For working conditions where dry powder needs to be recycled, the generation of waste water is strictly prohibited, or dust will react dangerously when exposed to water, it is not appropriate to directly use ordinary wet dust removal solutions.

Jiangsu wet dust collectors are mainly used for industrial dusty waste gas treatment and cannot be directly used as air purification equipment to remove indoor bacteria, viruses and all harmful gases. The actual plan should be designed based on pollutant type, treatment air volume, emission requirements and site conditions.
