EMD Series Pulse-Jet Baghouse Dust Collector
The EMD Series Pulse-Jet Baghouse Dust Collector is developed by ESAIR for industrial applications requiring high dust removal performance and reliable operation under complex working conditions.
The EMD Series features stable operation, convenient maintenance and optimized airflow distribution. Both the inlet and outlet structure and the internal airflow path are developed with the assistance of computer-aided engineering and airflow analysis, helping improve gas distribution and reduce unnecessary system resistance.
Flexible inlet configurations are available, including side-entry and bottom-entry designs, allowing the equipment to adapt more easily to different plant layouts, duct arrangements and installation conditions.
Product Overview
The EMD Series is designed as a compact industrial pulse-jet dust collection system for the efficient filtration of dry particulate matter generated during production processes.
Dust-laden air enters the collector through the optimized inlet section and is distributed evenly throughout the filtration chamber. Fine dust particles are captured on the surface of the filter bags, while clean air passes through the filter media and is discharged through the clean-air chamber and outlet.
As dust gradually accumulates on the filter surface, the pulse-jet cleaning system automatically removes the dust using compressed air. The separated material falls into the lower hopper and is then discharged through a suitable material handling system.
Advanced Airflow Design
Airflow distribution has a direct influence on filtration efficiency, pressure loss, filter bag life and overall energy consumption. The internal structure of the EMD Series is optimized to provide more uniform airflow distribution throughout the filtration chamber.
A properly designed airflow path helps reduce turbulence and unnecessary resistance inside the equipment. Lower operating resistance can reduce the load on the fan and contribute to lower overall energy consumption.
The optimized inlet structure also helps prevent high-velocity dust-laden air from directly impacting the filter bags, reducing localized wear and extending filter service life.

Advanced Pulse-Jet Cleaning System
The EMD Series incorporates an efficient pulse-jet cleaning system developed to maintain stable filter performance during continuous operation.
Compressed air is released through the pulse valves in short, controlled bursts. The resulting reverse airflow rapidly expands the filter bags and removes accumulated dust from the filter surface.
The cleaning system is designed to achieve effective dust removal while minimizing compressed-air consumption. Proper pulse timing and airflow distribution help reduce excessive mechanical stress on the filter media, supporting longer filter service life.
- Efficient pulse-jet filter cleaning
- Reduced compressed-air consumption
- Automatic cleaning control
- Stable filtration resistance
- Reduced unnecessary stress on filter media
- Suitable for continuous industrial operation

High-Efficiency Filter Media
The EMD Series uses high-quality 550–800 g/m² polyester filter media. Through specialized manufacturing and finishing processes, the filter media provides reliable filtration performance, good mechanical strength and extended service life.
Different filter structures can be configured according to customer requirements and operating conditions. Available options include conventional cylindrical filter bags and pleated filter designs.
Pleated filter structures can provide a larger filtration area within a compact installation space, while optimized filter arrangement helps reduce the overall equipment dimensions.
The internal filter layout is also designed to reduce uneven airflow impact and minimize filter damage caused by high-velocity dust-laden air.
Available Filter Configurations
- Cylindrical Filter Bags: Suitable for conventional industrial dust collection applications.
- Pleated Filter Bags: Provide increased filtration area within a compact installation space.
- Customized Filter Media: Filter material can be selected according to dust characteristics and operating conditions.

Dust Collection and Discharge Options
The EMD Series supports multiple dust collection and material discharge configurations. The appropriate discharge system can be selected according to dust volume, production process and on-site handling requirements.
For applications generating large quantities of dust, the collector can be equipped with a screw conveyor or other conveying system combined with a rotary airlock valve. This configuration allows collected material to be discharged continuously without interrupting normal dust collector operation.
For smaller dust volumes or compact models, a removable dust collection bin can be used. The collection bin can feature an eccentric quick-clamping mechanism for convenient removal while maintaining good airtightness during operation.

| Dust Discharge Method | Recommended Application |
|---|---|
| Rotary Airlock Valve | Suitable for continuous dust discharge from the hopper. |
| Conveyor + Rotary Airlock | Suitable for applications with large dust volumes or where material must be transported to a designated location. |
| Removable Collection Bin | Suitable for smaller equipment and applications generating relatively small quantities of dust. |
| Customized Discharge System | Can be configured according to material characteristics and site requirements. |

Main System Components
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Dust-Laden Air Inlet | Introduces contaminated airflow into the dust collector and distributes it through the filtration chamber. |
| Filter Bags | Capture particulate matter while allowing clean air to pass through the filter media. |
| Filter Bag Cages | Support the filter bags and maintain their shape during filtration and cleaning. |
| Pulse-Jet Cleaning System | Uses compressed air to remove accumulated dust from the filter surface. |
| Clean-Air Chamber | Collects filtered air before it is discharged through the outlet. |
| Dust Hopper | Collects dust removed from the filtration section. |
| Dust Discharge System | Transfers collected dust from the hopper for disposal or material recovery. |
Working Principle
Dust-laden air enters the EMD Series dust collector through the inlet and is evenly distributed inside the filtration chamber. Larger particles may settle toward the hopper, while fine particulate matter is carried toward the filter bags.
Dust is captured on the outer surface of the filter media. Clean air passes through the filter bags into the clean-air chamber and is then discharged through the outlet duct.
As the dust layer on the filter surface increases, the control system activates the pulse-jet cleaning sequence. Short bursts of compressed air are injected into the filter bags, causing rapid expansion and removing accumulated dust.
The removed dust falls into the lower hopper and is discharged through the selected material handling system, allowing the dust collector to continue operating with stable filtration performance.
