EXL Series Cyclone Scrubber Tower

The EXL Series Cyclone Scrubber Tower is an industrial wet dust and exhaust gas treatment system designed to remove particulate matter, dust and certain gaseous pollutants from process exhaust streams. By combining high-speed cyclonic airflow with water spraying and gas-liquid contact, the system provides efficient separation, washing and purification of contaminated air.

The equipment can be used as an independent dust treatment unit or as a pretreatment system before downstream purification equipment such as activated carbon adsorption units, catalytic combustion systems or other exhaust gas treatment equipment.

Product Overview

The EXL Series Cyclone Scrubber Tower utilizes aerodynamic and centrifugal separation principles to remove dust particles and pollutants from industrial exhaust gas. Contaminated air enters the tower and is guided into a high-speed rotational flow. The resulting centrifugal force promotes intensive contact between the exhaust gas and the circulating washing liquid.

During operation, dust particles are captured by water droplets and separated from the gas stream. The collected contaminants are transferred into the circulating water system, while the purified gas passes through a mist elimination section before being discharged or sent to additional downstream treatment equipment.

The tower mainly consists of the cyclone mixing section, spraying system, circulating water tank, mist eliminator, exhaust outlet and related gas-liquid separation components. The integrated structure enables effective dust capture while maintaining relatively low airflow resistance and convenient operation.

Working Principle

Dust-laden exhaust gas is introduced into the cyclone scrubber tower through an air duct under the negative pressure generated by the exhaust fan. After entering the high-speed cyclonic flow section, the airflow accelerates and creates strong rotational movement inside the tower.

At the same time, circulating washing liquid is pumped from the bottom water tank to the spray system and atomized through specially designed spray nozzles. The high-speed rotating exhaust gas comes into intensive contact with the fine liquid droplets, creating a highly effective gas-liquid mixing and washing process.

When required by the specific application, chemical agents can be added to the circulating liquid to support acid-base neutralization or other treatment processes. Through continuous gas-liquid contact, dust particles and soluble contaminants are transferred from the gas phase into the washing liquid.

Under centrifugal force, the dust-containing droplets are separated from the gas stream and fall into the circulating water tank. Heavier particulate matter gradually settles at the bottom of the tank. The washing liquid is then recirculated by the pump and reused in the spray system, helping reduce water consumption.

After the washing and separation process, the treated gas passes through a mist elimination layer to remove entrained moisture. The purified gas can then be discharged through the exhaust fan or transferred to downstream treatment equipment such as an activated carbon adsorption unit, catalytic combustion system or other exhaust gas purification equipment.

Main Treatment Process

  1. Exhaust Gas Intake: Dust-containing exhaust gas enters the tower under negative pressure.
  2. High-Speed Cyclonic Flow: The gas is guided into a high-speed rotating airflow inside the cyclone section.
  3. Water Spray and Gas-Liquid Mixing: Circulating water is atomized and thoroughly mixed with the contaminated gas.
  4. Dust Capture: Dust particles collide with and are captured by the washing liquid droplets.
  5. Centrifugal Separation: Dust-containing liquid droplets are separated from the airflow by centrifugal force.
  6. Water Circulation: The washing liquid returns to the bottom tank and is pumped back into the spray system for reuse.
  7. Mist Elimination: Residual liquid droplets are removed through the mist elimination section.
  8. Clean Gas Discharge: The treated gas is discharged or transferred to further purification equipment.
